About Acer Skeeter's Broom (Japanese Maple)

Acer palmatum Skeeter's Broom - It has bright red spring color, becoming burgundy red foliage in the summer, and bright red again in the Fall. The small attractive leaves emerge bright red in spring before turning dark red in summer. This plant holds its color very well even in hot climates. It also seems to hold color well in fairly heavy shade. Fall color is a bright scarlet and rather late compared to other maples. Stronger and easier to grow than some of the other witches’ brooms.  It forms a narrow upright shrub to 6'. 10 Year Size: Height:  6-8 Feet Width: 3-4 Feet. Family: sapindaceae
