Allium cepa - Yellow onions vegetable are cultivars of the onion (Allium cepa). These onions tend to have a sharper and more pungent flavor. They also tend to be more tender and have a thinner, more papery skin. They can be cooked just like other onions, but we also like them minced and added to raw salsas and chutneys. They have a pure yellow papery skin and a sweet, mild white flesh.
