Photo of Aucuba Picturata (Japanese Laurel)
Aucuba japonica Picturata - A compact shrub that features a large golden blotch in the middle of each leaf, surrounded by small yellow speckles against the green background and starry dots in the margins. Deep maroon flowers add interest, but this is primarily grown for its foliage and shade tolerance. Plant size: 2.5m height by 2.5m spread. Shrubs may be strictly pruned as hedges, left to grow unchecked, or lightly trimmed to shape once annually, always using secateurs to avoid cutting the large leaves. Family : Cornaceae
