Photo of Berberis Diabolicum (Japanese Barberry)
Berberis thunbergii Diabolicum an unusual and colourful little shrub with arching bright bronze-red stems and yellow leaves edged and splashed red when young, turning orange and red in autumn. Clusters of pale yellow flowers opening from red-tinged buds in April and May are followed by shiny bright red berries which are loved by birds. Makes a good impact in a shrub or mixed border with contrasting purple and green foliage plants. . Berberidaceae
