About Beta Egyptian Flat Round (beets vegetable - betterave)

Beta vulgaris subsp. vulgaris Egyptian Flat Round - beets vegetable - betterave - It is a historic, open-pollinated variety of beetroot known for its rapid growth, sweet flavor, and distinct flattened-round shape. It is also widely known as 'Flat of Egypt' or 'Crosby's Egyptian'. The roots are medium-sized (approx. 6–8 cm in diameter), smooth, and strongly flattened from the top and base. The skin and flesh are a dark crimson or deep red with a tender, juicy texture. The plant forms a compact leaf rosette, and the roots grow almost entirely on the surface of the soil, making them easy to harvest. Family: Amaranthaceae
