Brassica oleracea var. acephala Tokyo Red - kale vegetable – chou frisé - This cultivar features coarse purplish-blue leaves (that are veined in pink) that form loosely packed heads – these develop purplish-pink centers as the weather cools. Ornamental Kale is edible but will be more bitter than other cabbages and the colours fade when cooked (use as a garnish). Grows 8-12″ high by 12-18″ wide. Cool season annual. Family: Brassicaceae
