Photo of Malus Donald Wyman (crabapple tree)
Malus Donald Wyman - This highly rated disease resistant crabapple tree has a nice rounded shape as wide as it is tall. A large, spreading crabapple that matures to 15-20’ tall and slightly wider. Buds begin red and turn pink before opening to a blizzard of white fragrant single flowers in abundance in spring (April). Flowers are followed by bright red crabapples (to 3/8” diameter) that mature in fall. Crabapples persist on the tree well into winter, providing additional interest. Leaves are dark green and toothed. Leaves turn amber-gold in fall. Height: 5-6 m - Spread: 6-7 m. Family: Rosaceae
