Pisum sativum Norli - Snow Pea vegetable - Pois mange-tout - This organic pea is also known as “mangetout” peas. Its pale green leaves are compound with rounded leaflets arranged in pairs on the leaf stem. The leaves are tipped with branched, curled tendrils that curl around objects and help the fine pea stems climb. A round-seeded legume 50 cm tall, which produces an abundance of white flowers. Pods are just 2 inches long, and bear over a long picking period. Both the pod and the peas can be eaten. Produces large yields of tender pods without membranes. Harvest regularly. Can be cultivated without mesh. Good eaten fresh out of hand, or boiled, steamed or stir-fried. Snap peas may grow to 20 in. Family : Fabaceae
