Spiraea japonica Lemon Princess - cultivar is a compact, dense, upright, mounded, deciduous shrub which typically grows 1.5-2' tall with a slightly larger spread. Cultivar name is in reference to the yellow leaves (to 3" long) which are oval and sharply toothed. Yellow leaf color often fades as the summer progresses, however. Features numerous tiny pink flowers in flat-topped clusters (corymbs) in late spring to mid-summer. Foliage may turn attractive shades of red and orange in autumn. Family: rosaceae
