Acer palmatum Aka shigitatsu sawa - Japanese Maple – érable japonais - It is a deciduous tree that is known for it's stunning reticulated leaves. Spring growth brandishes cream colored leaves with prominent dark green veins. The leaves then age to darker greens throughout summer before becoming red in Autumn. It is a slow grower reaching 5' tall x 4' wide in 10 years. Leaves are sensitive to hot afternoon sun and protection is preferred. Family: sapindaceae
