Photo of Brassica Gonzales (Cabbage vegetable - chou)
Brassica oleracea var. capitata Gonzalez - Cabbage vegetable - chou - Round, mini cabbage for high-density plantings. Gonzales is the earliest to make dense, uniform, sweetly spicy mini heads from 4-6" in diameter, depending on spacing. These early, very firm, softball size heads are just the right size for most cabbage meals, even for a family. Once cut they produce a number of tennis ball sized heads. They can be planted more closely together than other cabbages. Common in European supermarkets. Family: Brassicaceae
