About Brassica Scarlet (kale vegetable – chou frisé)

Brassica oleracea var. acephala Scarlet - kale vegetable – chou frisé  - This rare open-pollinated kale is very uniform and vigorous, with vivid, show-stopping dark purple-red color. The broad, frilly, purple leaves grow on 2–3' tall, upright stalks. It produces highly decorative, dark green, red veined leaves which show more colour as colder weather approaches. Harvest leaves often, choosing the smaller young leaves, they will continue to produce all season and are very winter hardy.  Great for baby leaf and bunching. Very cold tolerant · Size: 24-36 in.  tall. Family: Brassicaceae
