Photo of Citrus Consolei (Bitter Orange)
Citrus aurantium Consolei - This Bitter Orange with its compact crown and without thorns, the leaves are somewhat rounder than those of other Bitter Orange varieties. With 3 to 3.5 cm in diameter, the white, sweetly fragrant flowers are larger than those of other varieties. The flowers are usually lined up along the branches. The fruits are 3-5 cm large and have a distinctive orange colored peel with ridges that run parallel from the fruit base to its end. These ridges give the fruits a wrinkled look. Healthy plants provide an annual rich harvest. Family: Rutaceae
