Photo of Corylus cornuta (beaked hazelnut)
Corylus cornuta - The long-billed hazelnut, also known as the elbow, is a bush that will not grow taller than 8 feet (2.5 meters) when fully grown. By planting the elbow trees every 6 feet (2 meters) away, you can create a beautiful hedge around or in front of your yard. If you prefer the hedge to fill up faster, you could plant them closer without a problem. Planting long-billed hazelnuts every 3 feet (1 meter) rather than 6 feet (2 meters) would save you several years. Family: Betulaceae
