Photo of Echinacea Green Eyes (Coneflower)

Echinacea purpurea Green Eyes - Large and fragrant flowers are an especially vibrant magenta-pink, with a cone that changes from green to golden-orange on newly emerged flowers. Flowering begins in midsummer and continues for weeks if faded blooms are regularly removed. Flowers appear in a floriferous bloom from late spring to late summer, sometimes with additional sporadic bloom until frost. This cultivar typically grows in an upright clump to 2-3' tall and to 1-1.5' wide on sturdy, well-branched stems that do not need staking. Each flower (to 4-5" diameter) features overlapping, bright, magenta-pink rays that are perpendicular to the stem and surround the domed center cone which changes color from lime green to golden orange as the flower matures. Flowers are mildly fragrant.  Leaves (to 6” long) are medium green. Family : Asteraceae
