Photo of Fortunella Centennial (Kumquat)
Fortunella margarita Centennial - This one is unique in looks as well as taste. it tastes like a cross between a kumquat and a mandarin orange - sweet and tangy, not sour. The leaves are a variegated yellow and green stripe, which is unusual for citrus. The fruit themselves are also striped - yellow with green stripes while they are growing turning to orange with red stripes when they mature. it flowers in fall and the fruits ripen in late winter, it can hold its fruit for months at a time so that there appear to be fruits and flowers on the tree year round in the right climates. Family : Rutaceae
