Hosta Designer Genes - (A. Wrede 2005) - This Hosta has brilliant yellow leaves that contrast nicely with the red petioles. It is incredibly striking in the spring as the brilliant yellow leaves emerge from contrasting deep wine red shoots. As the leaves emerge, the tips of the leaves are tinged red. It quickly grows to form a medium sized mound of bright yellow leaves with showy bright red petioles. It holds on to its yellow color longer into the season than other red petiole gold varieties. In deep shade the leaves will be lime-green in summer. Purple flowers held up on beautiful red scapes in late summer. (Mature Size: 12"T x 28"W). Family: Liliaceae
