Monarda didyma Fireball a compact beebalm cultivar that typically grows to 15-20” tall with an upright, outwardly spreading habit. Tubular, two-lipped, red-purple flowers are borne in dense, globular, terminal heads (verticillasters) atop stiff square stems clad with serrate, dark green leaves (to 2” long). Long summer bloom period. Attractive to bees, butterflies and hummingbirds, particularly when massed. Flowers, stems and leaves are aromatic. Lamiaceae
