Prunus persica Roussillon - Small tree native to East Asia, with slender branches, cultivated in Roussillon for several centuries. The flowers are usually pink, sometimes red (flowering at the end of winter before the appearance of the leaves). The leaves are hairless, with a short, glandular petiole, elongate blade and shiny on the obverse. The fruits can be downy or smooth (brugnons and nectarines), with adherent core or not.
