Photo of Rudbeckia Autumn Sun aka Herbstsonne (Black-eyed Susan)
Rudbeckia laciniata Autumn Sun aka Herbstsonne - An upright, rhizomatous, clump-forming perennial coneflower which typically grows 4-7' tall. This is a substantial plant which features large daisy-like flowers with drooping yellow rays and elongated bright green center cones. Flowers bloom singly atop slender branching stems. Long summer bloom. Toothed, bright green leaves. This may require staking in especially rich garden soils. Excellent for cutting. Clumps may be easily divided in early spring. Powdery mildew will be less of a problem is plants are grown in moist soil. 'Herbstsonne' is synonymous with 'Autumn Sun'. Family : Asteraceae
