Photo of Spiraea Sparkling Carpet (Spirea)
Spiraea japonica Sparkling Carpet - Looking like a tiny version of the popular Goldflame spirea with its golden foliage, attractive pink flowers and blazing fall color, this spreading dwarf is more like a groundcover perennial than a shrub and is best used as such, great for the rock garden. It features showy clusters of rose flowers at the ends of the branches from late spring to early summer. It has attractive gold foliage which emerges indian red in spring. The tiny serrated pointy leaves are highly ornamental and turn an outstanding burgundy in the fall. Height: 8 inches - Spread: 18 inches. Family: rosaceae
