Photo of Syringa Red Pixie (Lilac)
Syringa microphylla Red Pixie - Deciduous compact shrubs of small development, they have a compact habit, small dark green ovate leaves yellowing in autumn. Single very fragrant pinkish/red blooms which open from red buds during early Spring and sometimes again in the Autumn. Perfect for a small garden. Decidious and very sweet! Remove spent flowers in summer and mulch annually in spring. Prune lightly in late winter, remembering that most species bear flowers on the previous year’s growth. Height: 1.6 m x 1.6 m (5 ft x 5 ft). Family: Oleaceae
